Advanced Imaging Solutions of the Year (2003 and 2004)

Digital Optics is delighted to announce that, for the second year in a row, one of our customers was honored in the Advanced Imaging magazine "Solutions of the Year".

The award-winning application in the 2004 awards was the development of the new SeDDaRA deconvolution algorithm and its application to deblurring the imagery produced by NASA's Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe.

SeDDaRA was developed and implemented using V++ and has been reported in journals such as Applied Optics and Optics Letters. For more information about SeDDaRA, please contact Jim Caron of Quarktet.

In the 2003 awards, V++ users were honored for a multispectral imaging study of the Archimedes Palimpsest, an important historical manuscript from ancient Greece.

Digital Optics is proud to have played a part in these innovative projects and sincerely congratulates all of the award winners.

Latest V++ version

The latest V++ version number is: 4.0.7.240, also referred to as "Build 240", which was released on 05 May 2004. This upgrade is provided free of charge to users of any earlier V++ release.

Click here to see a history of the changes introduced in recent update releases.

Go to the V++ Download page to download the latest release.

To find out what version of V++ you are running, select the Help | About command and look at the status bar at the bottom of the desktop. If the last of the four numbers (the build number) is less than 95 then download the free upgrade.

If you're considering an upgrade from V for Windows 3.5 then click here to read about the new features.

Series 200 camera support

Digital Optics has released a PVCAM driver for the Photometrics Series 200 camera. The driver enables you to control a Series 200 from V++ 4.0.6.160 and later. It is compatible with Windows 95/98/ME only and cannot be used under NT/2000/XP.

Refer to the V++ Extensions page for more information and to download.

Downloadable V++ demonstration

The V++ demonstration is a full working copy of the latest version of V++. In most respects it operates exactly like the real product, including all image capture functionality, but does not require a security key.

Refer to the V++ Download page for more information and to download.

New Rainbow system driver

The Rainbow system driver provides access to the Sentinel SuperPro security key that ships with V++. It is optional under Windows 95, 98 and ME but is essential under Windows NT, 2000 and XP.

A new improved version of the system driver has been released (version 5.41) and can be downloaded from the System Updates page.

Multi-language Support in V++

V++ can now be localized for many foreign languages. If you are interested in obtaining a translated version or if you wish to translate V++ into your own language, please contact Digital Optics.

We can provide you with an International Edition of V++ and a translation tool that allows you to create a new language file. The interface language can be changed at runtime and English is always available.

USB security key available

It is now possible to request a USB SuperPro security key instead of the standard parallel port model. Requests for the USB option should be made at the time an order is placed.

The USB security key is available for all Windows operating systems that incorporate USB support (this includes Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP).
