Digital Optics was incorporated in 1988 and specializes in the design and production of high performance software for scientific applications. Our flagship products are V++ and VSpec Pro, precision digital imaging and spectroscopy products for Microsoft® Windows™.

Digital Optics software is used in thousands of laboratories in more than 40 countries around the globe. It is used in every US national laboratory, in all of the major universities, medical schools, military labs, spaceflight labs, high-tech companies and in dozens of law enforcement agencies around the world.

Early in our history, Digital Optics received an award in the "Software for International Markets" category of the Microsoft® Windows™ Open Awards in recognition of our groundbreaking V for Windows product, the predecessor of V++. Since then, a number of our customers have received awards for their innovative applications making use of V++ (click here for examples).

V++ is the preferred imaging software for use with a number of brands of high-performance scientific cameras and frame grabbers. Our new spectroscopy products, VSpec and VSpec Pro, are rapidly gaining recognition from spectroscopy professionals.

Digital Optics is based in Auckland, New Zealand and is owned and managed by Mark Andrews (Director of Engineering) and Gary Prentice (Director of Sales and Marketing).
